"The Aluminaire Affair" Fine Art Print | Frey & Kocher's "Aluminaire House"
The Aluminaire Affair Fine Art Print | Â Frey & Kocher's Aluminaire House
Based upon his original painting (an acrylic on panel) of the same name, Shag (Josh Agle) has created a limited-edition fine art print of The Aluminaire Affair for October Modernism Weekend 2025.
The Aluminaire House is a three-story prefabricated house designed as a case study by architects Alfred Lawrence Kocher and Albert Frey in April of 1931. It is the first prefab metal house designed and built in the United States.
As it is Albert Frey's first design, the Aluminaire House is now a featured exhibit at the Palm Springs Art Museum near his last design built in 1964, Frey House II, which is located on the hillside behind the museum with an overlooking view the Aluminaire House.Â
This fine art print edition was designed by Shag in collaboration with the Palm Springs Art Museum to celebrate The Aluminaire House.
The original painting and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Palm Springs Art Museum.Â
